The Wings have signed restricted free-agent forward Jiri Hudler. They've yet to announce the deal, so the term is uncertain. But, according to the NHLPA web site, he'll earn $880,000 next season, a nice raise from his $525,000 salary last season.
Hudler could have filed for arbitration today. Some Russian teams had also shown interest in him, but the Wings value his offensive abilities and finishing touch. He scored 15 goals last season despite averaging only 10 minutes of ice time a game. No player in the league was as productive with as little ice time.
