Free agent defenceman Brian Rafalski has agreed to a five-year, $30 million contract with the Detroit Red Wings.

Rafalski is regarded as one of the top defenceman on this year's free agent market.

For the second year in a row, Rafalski played in all 82 games and posted five goals and 47 assists for a career-high 55 points.
