Can the Detroit Red Wings bring the Stanley Cup back to Hockeytown?
The Detroit Red Wings opened the post season with the best possible outcome, a win over the Calgary Flames Thursday night. After disappointing playoff performances in recent years, the Red Wings are hoping to break the streak of bad luck and hopefully bring the Stanley Cup back to Detroit, or as fans know it, Hockeytown. Can Detroit carry the momentum or will they see an early playoff exit once again?
I think that we will at least get further in the play offs than last year i think. I dont think in their current form we'll see a ducks back to back.
Welcome to Hockey Forum!! Hope you enjoy your stay, and keep active. As of right now, it doesn't look like the Ducks are going to go that far again. The Wings have a good chance to make it to the Finals this year. We know they are going to make the playoffs. But, they have a decent amount of grit this year in Drake, Maltby, Draper, Downey.
It could happen Fingers crossed better team than last year i think even though we are missing some team vets the playes seem to work together well just keep the fingers crossed and see what happens
The Wings have the works. They were a fluke goal away from the finals last year, and the only players that they lost were Bertuzzi, who had no real value anyway. Lang is no crunch player, and we didnt have Schneider anyway.

The Wings,as all playoffs teams every year, will win only if they get excellent goaltending. The Wings won't win if they don't get some depth. Z and D can't play this much and win the Cup.
But, with all the penalties being called, the team with the hot PP and PK could win the Cup.
I agree....The wings need the second line to start putting up some numbers. Cleary 2 gols thus far, same as Hudler and Flippula...there needs to be more Offence other than the "BIG" line!

I agree. If that line can score more though, I think that there will most definately be another Stanley Cup final, and most likely a Stanley Cup, in Hockeytown.
