(Sports Network) - Mired in their longest losing streak of the season, the Dallas Stars play the last of back-to-back road games when the slumping club visits the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight at Nationwide Arena.
The Stars have dropped four consecutive games, their lengthiest skid in three years, following Thursday's 5-3 setback to St. Louis.
Mike Modano netted his 498th career goal for Dallas, which fell to 0-2-2 during the month of March, while Jere Lehtinen and Philippe Boucher also scored in the loss. Goaltender Mike Smith stopped 24-of-28 shots on the evening.
The Stars last lost four in a row from March 27-April 2, 2004. The team hasn't had a five-game losing streak since Nov. 30-Dec. 10, 2003,
Following tonight's tilt, Dallas will begin a three-game homestand Sunday against Los Angeles.
Columbus, meanwhile, comes in on a roll. The Blue Jackets have won three straight contests, the most recent being a home overtime triumph over Los Angeles. David Vyborny scored twice, including the game-winner with just 21.4 seconds left in the extra session, as the Jackets rallied for a 3-2 decision Wednesday at Nationwide Arena.
