(Sports Network) - The Dallas Stars will conclude a brief excursion through the Sunshine State this evening, when the Pacific Division contenders visit the BankAtlantic Center to face the Florida Panthers.
Dallas began the trip on a very good note, as the club came through with a 2-1 overtime victory over the Southeast Division-leading Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday. Ladislav Nagy scored off a Mike Ribeiro feed 1:35 into the extra period to give the Stars their third consecutive win.
Jere Lehtinen had the regulation goal for Dallas, which moved to within five points of first-place Anaheim in the Pacific standings, while Marty Turco stopped 19-of-20 shots.
The Stars currently hold the No. 5 playoff spot in the Western Conference, with rival San Jose lurking one point behind in sixth.
