Since being acquired from Phoenix on Monday, Ladislav Nagy made his Dallas Stars debut against the Detroit Red Wings on Valentine's Day.
DallasStars.com recently had the chance to speak with the Slovakia native about his style of play, playing on a line with Mike Modano and Jere Lehtinen among other things in this exclusive Q&A.
DallasStars.com: What went through your mind when you found out you were traded to the Dallas Stars?
Nagy: "I didn't expect it because I never thought I'd be traded to Dallas, a team in our own division. I heard some rumors about maybe Montreal, Toronto, or the New York Rangers. I would've liked to stay in Phoenix, but they didn't want to talk to me, so I'm really glad I'm here because it is a great organization. This team is headed towards the playoffs and whenever we had to play against Dallas, it was very tough to play against this team."
DallasStars.com: Prior to coming to Dallas, what were some of the things you heard about the organization?
Nagy: "They play very good defense and they are very tough to beat one-on-one. They have a very good power-play as well. Also, this is a great city to live in. This city has everything as well as great fans."
DallasStars.com: What were your thoughts on playing with Mike Modano and Jere Lehtinen the other night?
Nagy: "I'm very glad that I'm here and playing with players like Modano and Lehtinen. My first game, I didn't want to try and do too much. I just have to go out there and have fun. I was a little nervous being in the first game. The puck was a little more bouncy. I think after one or two more games I'll relax, have fun, and play my game."
DallasStars.com: How would you describe to the Dallas fans your style of play?
Nagy:
