Question What's Going On?????? (2nd try)

The STARS can't clear the puck out of thier own zone and they forget to play defense and cover people around the crease in the third period. What the heck is going on with this team?

Is it the Players? Is it the Coaching Staff?

I was amazed to see L.A come back that easily from a 4 goal deficiet. The stars thought they had the game won and the defence in the third was incredibely sloppy. how many giveaways did they have in thier own zone in the last 10 minutes? They sure had alot. I think its the players fault at the moment

I think that this is almost like the situation in Atlanta. The players aren't performing, and they might have to fire the coach to wake up the team. When Dallas shows up and plays they are a very good team. Look at the wins against San Jose and Anaheim. Unfortunately they also choose not to play the entire game(see the L.A. game and the game against Chicago) or don't bother to show up at all(look at the last two games against PHX.)

This is a team that is suppose to win with defense, but the defense is what's killing them right now. Neither goalie has been consistent. Turco puts up a shut out one night then gets shelled the next. The defensemen have their own issues. Grossman is having trouble adjusting to the speed in the NHL, Robidas is not being as physical as he was last year, and Boucher just seems off.

Even though Tippett has a great record as the Star's coach, this might be the end of his stay in Dallas. He seems to be having trouble getting the players focused on the game. It might be time to bring in a new coach.

That meltdown against L.A. was truly amazing. I was pumped to see them scoring at will, but I guess the Stars decided the game was over and time to go home.

I think it is time for some new blood. How about a coaching staff of Ludwig (head), Messier (sp?) and Nuewy, with Brett Hull as GM/Player Aquisitions and Patrick Roy as Goalie coach?

Well.....It could happen.....

The Stars are better than this. The coach isn't the one to tell the players to stop playing defense; but this kind of play makes you wonder if it's time for a shakeup.

This is becoming similar to the situation with Hitchcock. He was a good coach and led the Stars to a Stanley Cup, but eventually the players stopped listening to him. Tippett may be in the same situation. He's a good coach but if he can't motivate the players to play an entire game then it's time for him to leave.
