DALLAS STARS SIGN VADIM KHOMITSKI

"Dallas Stars General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today that the club has signed defenseman Vadim Khomitski to a one-year, one-way contract for the 2007-08 season.

'We liked what we saw of Vadim in his brief stint with the Iowa Stars last season, and we feel that his experience at the highest levels of Russian hockey will provide good depth to our club’s defensive group,' said Armstrong. 'Vadim is excited about training camp and is looking forward to the competition for a roster spot in Dallas...'”


Great to see Dallas bring Khomitski back over from Russia. He should bring some youth and some additional offense to the blueline.

Dallas Stars - News: Jokinen, Stars Agree On Two-Year Deal - 08/30/2007
Jokinen Signed

"Dallas Stars General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today that the club has re-signed left wing Jussi Jokinen to a two-year contract worth $3.625 million ($1,812,500 average per season) through the 2008-09 season...Jokinen, 24, appeared in all 82 games last season with the Stars, posting 14 goals and 34 assists for 48 points. The Kalajoki, Finland, native ranked second on the Stars in plus/minus (+8) and fifth in points. He was also one of three players (also Stu Barnes and Niklas Hagman) to appear in every game last season..."


Great job by the Stars to get Jokinen signed. The Stars will need his offense this season.
