i think that barnaby was a total bust. He added more of the grit that krys barch, steve ott, and brenden morrow already supplied, and wasted [although very minimal] amounts of money that could have been spent on offensive free agents
I think that if a player gets injured, he cannot be classified as a bust. We all know that barnaby is one of the greatest agitators in the game. If you are asking if he was a bust for Dallas, then I still dont think so.
I think that Barnaby was a good signing by the Stars. I would have classified him as a success if not for his injury. He was good for the locker room and a provided some much needed grit. Remember Ott missed most of the season with an ankle injury, Morrow missed a significant amount of time with injuries and Barch didn't really make it into the line-up until both Ott and Barnaby were injured. For a while Barnaby was the only real "tough" guy on the roster.
As much as I agree that the Stars needed help in the scoring department, Barnaby wasn't signed to fill that roll. He was signed to be a agitator and "tough" guy. He succeeded in that role.
