Sounds like they think Morrow will be a better captain for Dallas. But I really like Modano, this kinda sucks. Well, good luck to Dallas and their new captain.

What a wierd day for the NHL...

My only guess is that Modano is contemplating retirement or something, because he's easily one of the top five best captains in the league and arguably the best American player of all time. But maybe Dallas is taking a step back so they can take two steps forward...

Morrow is simply a better leader than Modano. Modano may have more experience but Morrow has more heart and leadership abilities. Great move by the Stars.

I don't know, Modano has never really struck me as the captain type. Just because he's their best player doesn't mean he should have the "C". Maybe Modano didn't feel comfortable wearing it anymore, or the Stars felt that they needed to make a statement about the team going in a new direction. Either way, I think Morrow is a very good choice to wear the "C".

sure hope for the stars sake this doesnt cause tension in the locker room... and creates a distraction

Modano's stats suffered when he got the A.... maybe it was too much for him to juggle playing and the responsibilities of the captain.

I like Morrow for captain. It signifies looking towards the future. I've always thought he's the heart-and-soul of the team.
