Shayne Corson has agreed to terms with the Dallas Stars, TSN has learned.
Sources told TSN Corson will be flying to Dallas this afternoon and undergoing a physical. If he passes the physical, and that is expected, Corson will sign a contract for the balance of the season and join the Stars in their run for the playoffs.
Corson was an unrestricted free agent who quit hockey in the midst of last year's playoffs with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Corson, 37, is a veteran of 18 NHL campaigns with stops in Montreal (twice), Edmonton, St. Louis and Toronto. In 1,139 NHL games, Corson has 268 goals, 415 assists, 683 points and 2,328 penalty minutes. Corson also has 91 points, including 37 goals, in 135 games.
