The Stars tried to sign winger Slava Kozlov yesterday, but the veteran decided he didn't want to leave Atlanta.
Stars GM Doug Armstrong told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram his team offered Kozlov "a more lucrative financial offer," but wasn't surprised at the final decision.
"I sensed when he was here his first choice was to stay with the team that he's with currently," Armstrong told the paper. "He's 35, and he'd be uprooting family when the kids are already situated and settled. Those are the choices they have to make, and you respect that."
According to the Dallas Morning News, the Stars also tried to sign wingers Jason Blake and Paul Kariya, but they signed in Toronto and St. Louis, respectively.
