I think this hire is good and bad. Good, because we have a youthful coach who will drive the guys hard, but also, he never even had a winning season at Lake Erie. I think that Arniel from Manitoba would have been the best hire possible, but we'll see what happens.

The thing the Avs are trying to do is find the success teams like Vancouver, Washington, Pittsburgh and Ottawa had in promoting their AHL coach, but the issue is, if you're team doesn't have great talent or depth it can turn out like NY Islanders or the Toronto Maple Leafs.
