I dunno, Smyth would be demanding a big contract, and I dunno, I don't see the big hype over him...sure he's tough in the front of the net and stuff, and he would act as a Kono I suppose, but we could get someone like Kono for a lighter contract I bet...

Don't we have a capable backer in the system? I seem to remember hearing something like that...I dunno. But I think Budjs will be a great starter for us.

I don't doubt Budaj will be a great starter, I just don't see him capable of playing 65+ games... Ig that just made any sense

According to a variety of rumor mills, Theodore's agent says that if Colorado buys out his contract there are 4 other NHL teams (my guess is Phoenix, Boston, Florida, and Tampa) who would be interested in picking up Theodore if his contract is reduced by the buyout process. I've heard conflicting reports on number crunching but the consensus is that the Avs would only have $2 million of Theodore's salary counting against the cap. And Backstrom (or rather, Bäckström) is still the best option for a UFA goalie signing in my opinion...

No way we're getting Backstrom...after the job he's been putting on, Minnesota is locking him up as soon as they get kicked out.

I dont think you will get backstrom either. Though i dont know any one who would pick up theodore. His last 2 seasons havent been the best of his career. May be somebody will take a chance but i dont see anyone locking him up longterm

I dont know about them trading fernandez. I mean last year they traded roloson. backstrom had been good but i dont think he is ready for a full time job yet. I dont see Montreal not signing souray but maybe smyth might sign
there.
