I am going to prep school next year and I understand that many prep players that fall short of top D1 schools usually end up playing at NESCAC D3 school. What is the recruiting process like for D3, and how much support do the colleges have for the hockey programs? Im just asking this stuff out of pure curiosity. Like for example at the D3 level are you still expected to buy all of your own equipment or do they hook you up similarly to a D1 school just with lower level play? Any insight into the D3 root would be well appreciated.
