Brent Patry of Ottawa, a junior defenceman for the Rochester Institute of Technology, was named player of the week after earning five points in a weekend sweep of Mercyhurst. Patry had two assists in a 5-2 win and a goal and two assists the following night in a 6-4 Tigers victory.
Freshman forward Matt Crowell contributed the winning goal and two assists in the 6-4 win, while R.I.T. freshman goaltender Louis Menard of Chicotimi, Que., stopped 50 shots combined for the two victories.
Andrew Loewen, a freshman goaltender at Canisius, stopped 58 of 62 shots during the weekend and was named goaltender of the week. Loewen made 36 saves in a 5-2 win over American International and blocked 22 shots in a 4-1 loss to the Yellow Jackets.
Freshman defenceman Carl Hudson of Smooth Rock Falls, Ont., scored two-goals in the 5-2 Golden Griffins win.
