Default Hawks win 1st pick

The blackhawks will recieve first pick in the 2007 nhl draft. I think this is their chance to recieve some godsend and push their team to new limits with some of the new prospects. Let's pick smart next year!! :0pouce:

Well, there's not really a "godsend" type player available this year... but you can't go too far wrong with a #1 pick, even in a supposedly weak draft year.

If this would've happened two or three years ago, we'd be in set. the Hawks need to get the type of player they need. I think Kane would fit the mold very nicely.

I think he only signed for 1 year... he didn't really pay all that great, not sure he'll be back.

Another downpoint was losing Michal Handzus for the year, he played well early on.. Not sure if they'll resign him as hes a UFA.

If they're in the playoffs next year, Khabi will have to step up big time..

My guess is because the other thread is more general, and is widely based on Flyer fans lamenting their loss of the #1 pick/musing that they'll get who they want anyway. This thread is more specific to Chicago, a place for ppl to discuss what the Hawks need and who they might pick.

Well no one posted in chiago for awhile so why not?

Khabi is slipping, what's going on? He doesnt have good defense in front of him with bondra still adjusting and all. Their offense is pretty good, havlat and ruutu are putting some points up. If they could shape up their d and goaltending a little they could make the playoffs next year.
