Default What happened in Chitown

What has happened with the Blackhawks over the past 10 or so years?

Seems like the owners and the city have given up on the team.

Their starting to get back into the swing of things. Nikolai Khabibulin is starting to play well again and the little revamp their coaching staff got will help a lot down the long run. Look for the Blackhawks to keep winning more and more games as the season goes on and I think they will be a contender next year.

Chicago could be a very good team late this year, or next year. Wirtz destroyed the team the day he traded Roenick, Blackhawks fans haven't had much to appreciate since he was traded.

Poor drafting actually screwed the team to Nabokov, Leroux, Von Arx, Yakubov, and Vrobiev were all busts.

www.wirtzsucks.com

This site says it all. heck. Dollar Bill is the only owner I know of to be on record for saying "Don't you be thinking about winning any Stanley Cups. They're too expensive." to his GM.

The fans rebelled by not buying tickets, which led to poor arena attendance, which led to Wirtz Ordering the Cable TV to Black out home games in all of Chicago in order to force people to go to see the game.

Despite extremely low attendance(Among the worst in the NHL). The Blackhawks turn a profit every year. The second worst Owner behind Wirst is Jeremy Jacobs. But wirtz takes the cake for worst.

Seeing the way Jonathan Toews played in the WJs has to make Hawks fans feel good at least. With him coming in next year, Seabrook and Barker getting older and better on the blueline, this team may yet have a future. If only their forwards can stay healthy...

I think next year the Hawks could go half far. Seabrook and Barker on defence and Martin Havlat , Jonathon Toews and Michael Handuz up front could be a hard line to stop and then if Khabibulian in net they will tear up.
