Hawks want Calder signed

The Blackhawks would like to sign Kyle Calder to a long-term contract, but the winger may have other plans, reports the Chicago Daily Herald.
According to the paper, it's believed Calder wants a one-year deal in order to test the free-agent market next summer.
Calder has filed for arbitration, seeking a raise from the $1.3 million he made in 2005-06 when he led the Hawks in goals (26) and points (59).
Meanwhile, winger Radim Vrbata is believed to be close to a new deal with the Hawks.
