The Blackhawks select John Towes as their first round pick. I'm personally disappointed they passed over Backstrom who is an NHL ready talent that they need to make a spalsh on this team.

Towes is said to be one of the most complete players in the draft, and hopefull he will evolve into the talent that they say he will. I personally prefer the pure production they would've got in Backstrom.

not if the combine says anything...i would have gone with backstrom, but nevertheless, toews should be a great player in the futture.

I don't think Chicago needs a two way player, they need a pure scorer. Someone who can move the puck and finish. Backstrom would be that guy.

Personally, and this is a far stretch of the imagination here....but I think the Hawks need a team that can move the puck and finish. Sure one guy that can do that is a great addition, but the Hawks need at least a full line that can put together a couple passes and maybe hit the back of the net once in a while. But hey, what do I know? I'm just a kid from Chicago. :haha:

Hawks spend millions on a goalie that can win 'em a Cup and then surround him with an AHL team. How dumb is that?
