The Chicago Blackhawks have signed forwards Andy Hilbert and Mikhail Yakubov. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.
"These signings definitely upgrade our skill level," said Blackhawks GM Dale Tallon. "With the injuries we've had to Eric Daze and Tuomo Ruutu, Hilbert and Yakubov give us alternatives as far as skill is concerned."
Hilbert, 24, was acquired by the Blackhawks from the Boston Bruins on November 6 in exchange for a fifth round pick in the 2006 Draft. He has appeared in five games with Norfolk (AHL) scoring three goals and adding four assists for seven points.
Yakubov had been playing for Spartak in the Russian League appearing in 29 games notching five goals and seven assists for 12 points with 38 penalty minutes.
The 23-year-old was the Blackhawks' first-round pick (10th overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.
