The first quarter of the Blackhawks' season hasn't gone exactly as general manager Dale Tallon had hoped, which could lead to a few changes along the way, reports the Chicago Tribune.
However, as the Hawks sit in 13th place with a 9-13-0 record, Tallon is pleased with the franchise's direction.
"Obviously, we're not satisfied," Tallon told the Tribune. "I thought we would start better."
According to the paper, Tallon is seeking more offense but concedes trades will be hard to make until the second half of the season.
"We're not looking for a band-aid," he said. "We're looking for someone who is going to fit in long term with what we want to do and blend in with our young guys."
Meanwhile, Tallon said he had no idea whether winger Eric Daze would ever play again.
Daze, 30, has been one of Chicago's best offensive producers since joining the team full-time in 1995-96, but has been battling through a history of back ailments.
In 601 career NHL games, the Montreal native has notched 226 goals and 172 assists for 398 points.
