Default Ruutu in "terrible pain"

Blackhawks star Tuomo Ruutu has been plagued by a sore back since training camp, but the Chicago Tribune is reporting the 22-year-old could be in serious trouble.
According to the paper, Ruutu left the team Wednesday morning and returned with a sore back. Coach Trent Yawney said Ruutu could barely bend over after playing for the first time in two weeks the night before.

Ruutu's agent, Bill Zito, said his client will be examined later today.

"He's in terrible, terrible pain," Zito told the Tribune. "He's concerned but not panicked."

Hawks GM Dale Tallon said the team plans to hold a news conference Sunday to explain the results of tests.
"We're going to let the doctors explain whatever it is," Tallon told the Tribune.

I must admit, GoNucks, I am rather used to the "thot to share this" tag at the end of your many newslinks you've provided.. I give you the benefit of the doubt, you meant to put a different emoticon, right? I mean, who would laugh at an injury, esp. a potentially serious one?

I'm starting to wonder if there is not something institutional leading to bad backs, much like the Cubs and their tendency to blow out young pitching arms.

That's it - whoever made Eric Daisy Ruutu's "workout buddy" - you're fired on Monday!

The Hawks are probably the worst run franchise in pro sports. Doesn't surprise me when they have a high rate of injury to their players. I'm sure most guys are really happy to get traded or leave. Look at the list of good players the Hawks have had the last ten years and lost. You could assemble a pretty good team from guys like Roenick, Amonte, Chelios, Belfour, Hasek, Thomas, etc, etc.

When the Hawks had Belfour, Hasek and Jimmie Waite on the roster they chose to send Hasek to Indy. Chelios told a reporter at the time that the world's greatest goalie was playing in Indy. Waite was nothing more than Belfour's caddy.

When the Hawks got Probie from Detroit after all his troubles with alcohol a reporter asked Pulford "wasn't it a risk to sign a guy like that?" Pully said "Nah he'll be Ok. Chelli's gonna keep an eye on him".That's the fox guarding the hen house for sure.

Until Billy Wirtz dies there's no hope for this franchise. Sad to say.
