Sutter, Arnason altercation
Quote:
According to a report in The Daily Telegram, Chicago Blackhawks coach Brian Sutter was involved in an altercation with 24 year-old centre Tyler Arnason.
Witnesses claim that Sutter confronted Arnason in Nashville Sunday night, following a 2-2 tie at Florida that afternoon. At "Tootsies Orchid Lounge" in Nashville, Sutter allegedly had Arnason up against a wall and, according to the paper, threatened the third-year pro.
"It was probably the same as any other altercation I've had with Arnie," Sutter told The Daily Telegram. "We talked about him being a better player and a better teammate. It wasn't physical or anything like that. I'd like it (Arnason's play) to be physical with him more. I might have poked him or something, but it wasn't unlike 101 other conversations I've had with him. I hope it worked because he played the game of his life the next night."
Arnason has frustrated Sutter with his inconsistent play and lack of aggressiveness and his refusal to fight back when challenged may not have endeared him any more to his hard-nosed coach.
Arnason is third on the Blackhawks with 38 points. He's also minus-7 and has compiled 12 penalty minutes in 66 games this season.
Blackhawks GM Bob Pulford says he will investigate this incident.
