General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Blackhawks have signed forward Pierre Parenteau to a 1-year contract.
Parenteau, 24, stands at 5.11 and weighs in at 194 pounds. Last season with the Blackhawks, Parenteau appeared in five games. He collected his first NHL point with an assist during the game on Feb. 14 vs. Pittsburgh.
Parenteau was acquired by the Blackhawks on Dec. 28, 2006 from the Anaheim Ducks along with Bruno St. Jacques in exchange for Sebastien Caron, Matt Keith and Chris Durno. Parenteau was originally drafted by Anaheim in the ninth round of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft (264th overall).
