General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Blackhawks have signed defenseman James Wisniewski to a 1-year contract.
Wisniewski, 23, stands at 6.00 and weighs in at 207 pounds. Last season with the Blackhawks, Wisniewski appeared in 50 games scoring two goals to go along with eight assists for ten points. He also had 39 penalty minutes for the season before suffering a torn ACL in a game on Mar. 6 vs. Los Angeles. Wisniewski missed the remainder of the season.
Wisniewski was selected by the Blackhawks in the fifth round of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft (156th overall). He has split time during the last two seasons between the Blackhawks and Norfolk (AHL). In his NHL career, Wisniewski has played 69 games while scoring four goals and 13 assists for 17 points.
