The Chicago Blackhawks announced on Tuesday they have given general manager Dale Tallon a two-year contract extension.
"I'm very excited that the Blackhawks have given me the opportunity to continue to work toward our goal of winning the Stanley Cup," said Tallon.
The Blackhawks were 31-42-9 in 2006/07 and finished last in the Central division but have been able to add some promising players through the NHL Draft. They had the top pick in the NHL Entry Draft and selected forward Patrick Kane from the London Knights. The club used their third pick in 2006 on forward Jonathan Toews.
