Hurricanes' Adam supended for 2 Games
Carolina Hurricanes forward Craig Adams has been suspended two games for hitting Toronto Maple Leafs forward Alex Steen over the head with his stick during Carolina's 3-2 win on Tuesday night.
Adams had a phone hearing with NHL Vice President Colin Campbell Wednesday morning, with the suspension being handed down a short time later.
Adams is the second Hurricanes player to be suspended in less than a week. Forward Scott Walker served a one-game suspension on Friday for head-butting Ottawa's Mike Fisher in a fight.
In 30 games this season, Adams has tallied one goals and two assists with 25 penalty minutes.
