For the first 130 games of his NHL career, Chad LaRose was mostly a fourth-line player and one of Carolina’s reliable penalty killers.
This past week, the 25-year-old made the most of his promotion to a line that includes future Hall of Famer Rod Brind’Amour and 30-goal scorer Justin Williams.
LaRose moved to the Brind’Amour line when Andrew Ladd went down with an ankle injury. Coach Peter Laviolette looked down his bench and plucked LaRose out of a group of potential candidates. LaRose has been more than a stop-gap measure, registering three assists against Ottawa and a goal the other night in a win against Montreal as the Canes went 3-0 on their road trip through Canada.
Good for Chad !!
Hopefully he can stay up there !!!
