Head coach: Brent Sutter
Sounded as though Brent is farmilliar with the Flames situation and what it needs. Best of all; NO SMOKE IN MIRRORS!!!!
Assistants: Dave Lowry and Ryan McGill
Who was first to suggest Lowry? He was a big part of the leadership in 04 and took a Hitmen team which was rebuilding to the WHL final; sweeping two powerhouse teams (and Edmonton ) along the way.
Goalie coach: Jamie Mclennan
Undecided on this one, David Marcou was a good goalie coach.

Luongo's supported Mclennan since they played together in Florida and once said he would make an excellent goaltending coach. Apparently Jamie gave him a lot of help and such when he backed him up. He also helped out last year under Marcoux.
Take that for what it's worth.

Blysma wasn't a good player either. He just coached his team to a Stanley Cup.
Hell, Bowman didn't even make it out of Junior hockey and wasn't a superstar when there, and he's the greatest coach of all time. Playing ability and coaching ability aren't the same thing.
Yet he isn't good enough to still play in the league?
Ever heard of the phrase "those who can't do, teach"?
As I said before, coaching ability and playing ability are two completely different things. Teaching, encouraging and helping layers overcome flaws are completely different things than going out and performing. I don't understand how you don't understand this.
Mclennan was a key factor to Kiprusoff doing well in Calgary, and also helped Luongo become the goaltender he is during their stint together in Florida.
Having seen Sutter coach the last two years with the Devils I can say that the younger players are going to benefit from having him there. I don't think it's a coincidence that Parise, Zajac, Clarkson, and Oduya have all come along so well the last couple years. Parise would have been fine no matter who the coach was, but I think Sutter did a lot of good work with him and the other young guys. That's probably the one thing I'll miss the most about him.
Whether or not he can get the job done in the playoffs I'm not sure. For some mind-boggling reason Sutter went back to the linematching the Devils were known for for years, after getting away from it for most of the regular season. But that could just be his inexperience at the NHL level.
