Hmm.. i'd much rather he stayed in Buffalo, but if he was to move then i would be happy with him moving to my 2nd favourite team. I'm gonna search about the net and see if i can find any updates on the rumours

You know what the Sabres need? A special teams coach! Lindy doesn't know very much at all about coaching the special teams, even though he insists on telling us all that he knows exactly what to do. If he knew what to do then why didn't he do it earlier?
.. and maybe get rid of Spacek

Also, If we sign Zubrus (IMO we should) then he needs to be more consistent with his grittiness. He started off for the Sabres, punishing the opposing D night in, night out.. But as time went on with the Sabers, he progressively got weaker. I mean, i know when he was brought up in Washington, he was trained as a "playmaker", but he decided to change to the crash and bang style.

Yeah, me too. He put up a great chunk of points last year for the Sabres, and we have him until he's 30 which tenchnically he should hit his prime a couple of years before. People may think he's earning a lot, but it could turn out a bargain in ayears to come, just like Vanek will.

Buffalo Sabres GameDay Discussion
Each game for the Sabres you can discuss anything that happens before OR after the game. Once the game starts you can discuss the game in that thread.

Spacek never practiced with the Sabres earlier this morning, and is expected to miss both the Habs game, and the BlueJackets game following a hard hit into the boards from Maple Leafs’ Nik Antropov Monday night in the final minutes of regulation, Spacek left the ice with a sprained shoulder.
Pominville took his place on the D in the practice session. However, Ruff is still to decide which Amerk he will bring up for the weekend to replace Spacek.
He was on a good role as well, it's a shame he has to miss two games.

Good luck tonight Sabres fans. You are gonna need it:P
Don't let the sharks 2nd place in the west fool you into thinking the whole team is doing good. It is all Thornton and Nabokov.
Nabokov currently leads the NHL in wins, is 2nd for shutouts, and top 10 for Save%.
Thornton is the only one scoring on the sharks roster, with triple the points of anyone else on the team:(

It's gonna be an awesome game. My two favourite teams going head-to-head.
The Sabres are gonna have to play a LOT better than the previous two games if they want to stand a chance in this game with Naby playing at the top of his game at the moment.
They'll definitely need to throw the body around more tonight, tighten up their D, and the offence will need to be top nothc if they want to score into this goalie, and break the sharks winning streak.
I'm thinking there may be a shake-up of the lines on the Sabres side tonight. They haven't been producing the same opportunities they were making 2 and 3 weeks ago. It's time for a change.
I'm thinking along the lines of:
Hecht - Roy - Pommers
Vanek - Connolly - Stafford
Kotalik - Goose - Max
Ryan - Mair - Paille
I'd like to give Paille and Mair a bit more time on the ice, but i just don't think it would happen. I think these lines seem pretty balanced and they have performed well together before on similar lines. Max needs to get hsi game going quickly or he's gonna be moving city for someone more consistent.
Hopefully the Hatton/Mayweather fight has finished by the time the game starts so i can concentrate on it.
