Default Miller's New Mask!

This is the new mask Miller will wear for the Winter Classic game.

Its a nice helmet, shame it'll be covered up by a toque on the day!

I wonder if he will wear it for the rest of the regular season as well.

Everyone is getting ready for the 2008 NHL Winter Classic in their own ways.

Goaltender Ryan Miller is working on a new mask. Or more to the point, trying to break in a new mask before next Tuesday.

For the first time this season, Miller will change lids for just one game from his standard mask - pictured to the right - to the one pictured below.

The art work on the mask holds similar elements as his previous one - "Miller Time", "Matt Man", a bulldog with a Michigan State Spartan green bowler hat, the current Sabres logo - but does have a couple of new items, including a retro logo on the crown.

Full Story and Updated Pix

The helmet looks pretty cool.

I kinda like the current one but I wouldnt mind this one either.

I like the Buffalo on the forehead, good to see that logo again.

I doubt he'll wear it again after the new years day game. Maybe he'll auction it off for charity?

Current weather forcast for the Buffalo area for the game is a high of 32f, and snow showers.

Sounds good to me. It's certainly going to be an experience.

It's tuque time for Sabres' Miller
Sunday, December 30, 2007

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Playing outdoor hockey is becoming old hat for Ryan Miller.

Maybe this time it'll be new tuque.

Pulling a page from the Jose Theodore playbook, the Buffalo Sabres goalie is considering wearing a tuque on top of his mask during the Winter Classic at Ralph Wilson Stadium on Tuesday.

The look will be a la Theodore, who made quite the fashion statement when the then-Montreal Canadiens netminder donned one during the Heritage Classic four years ago at Edmonton.
Milllllerrrr!

I wonder how often we'll get events like the Winter Classic. The Montreal-Edmonton one was great (except for that idiot who ruined the photo and a perfect moment forever), and the Pittsburgh-Buffalo game should be awesome.

It should make New Year's Day extra special.
