Tim Thomas and Manny Fernandez both have expiring contracts at the end of the season. Thomas will likely demand more than $5 million for an extension, with the injury-prone Fernandez possibly asking for a little less.

Tuukka Rask hasn't been given a chance in the big league this year. If he's up with Boston next year, the team will take a cap hit of about $3 million.

What would you do to make sure this team goes into next season with solid, reliable goaltending?

Cant see them letting Thomas go. I fully expect a Thomas and Rask tandem next year.

I definetly wouldn't let Timmay go... he's phonominal. and Tuukka would be a perfect back up. sorry to say it, but Manny's gotta go.

Tim Thomas makes all those saves that make you go wow while tuuka rask is just such a solid prospect that you have to let him at least be a backup so i would have to say let tim thomas be your starter with tuuka rask being the backup for a while until hes ready to handle the full time position ( which wont be long for rask)
