All-Star Bashing...

Ok. The All-Star game sucks. Great. Thanks for your incredibly original and informative opinion. Why don't you go back to your Heineken and shut your yap.
It's that time of year again when every idiotic radio commentator and half-arse hockey connoisseur talks about how much the All-Star game needs to be improved. How it is ridiculous that this is what we use to promote hockey to the world. How there needs to be huge changes blah blah blah blech!
Let me ask you this: What All-Star game doesn't suck!?!?!?
Football? Cmon, these guys just finished their grueling season and are in Hawaii. The last thing they want to do is go out and pound each others faces in.
Basketball? I have never had a more painful experience watching these guys score 500 points. And the dunk competition just gets worse and worse every year.
Baseball? Ditto! Although, the home-run derby is fun to watch.
So what is so bad about hockey? And who ever said that the All-Star game is where we are supposed to showcase the sport's great appeal to the rest of the world? Uhm, there are 82 games in a season, not to mention the most exciting post-season of any sport in the world. Do those games not count for anything? And in all honesty, the skills competition is tons of fun to watch. Hardest slap-shot, speed competitions, shoot-out challenges. These things are entertaining.
So listen, enough talk about this subject. It has been beaten to death from the the wrong angle. Think before you speak ok. And let's all be honest for once. If most American cities didn't like watching hockey 15 years ago, didn't like watching it 10 years ago, didn't like watching it 5 years ago, and don't like watching it now, trust me, the freaking All-Star game never was and never will be the reason they start loving the sport. There, I said it! So stop using what is supposed to be a relaxed and fun weekend for these warriors as the scapegoat for the overall lack of appeal to the sport by half of the USA.
That's it! I'm done!
