Plenty of snow these past days. Just about ten days ago there was a lot of talk about how neat it would be to have a white xmas. Something I've never seen in my lifetime here....close but no cigar. The cloud cover has rolled out; the Arctic air has settled in....sure am grateful for the new windows. They're not the best product out there, in fact, they're one of the cheapest....but they're performing. I broke all the rules with this purchase. I've been a Polar Window supporter since I can recall, I bought a few. Tri pane windows at their finest. With the price to match....So, I tried something different. A gamble...yes. I also bought dual pane sliders... Yes, I said dual pane. You see, studies show that if your home is like mine, 100 years old made by 2x4 construction....Tri Pane may very likely be overkill. You're windows will be better than your walls. So I put the studies to their tests....so far so good. Next time, casements....you cannot have a better seal than casement style windows FYI.
I look to be catching up on my work around here. School is going by fast. I am studying to become a Machinist in the Aerospace industry. I was on a tour yesterday of a company which makes many military devices....that's all I can really say. They only showed us the basics, NATO clearance was necessary to view the rest. Not sure how I feel about all of that.

So I am super excited. As some of you already know, I am aiming to become a Machinist. At the apprentice level I am doing quite well. You see, it's a natural transition for me as I've been a car nut for life and am in the process of a restoration on my 74 Z. Which you also might already know. The sun is peaking over the Manitoba Maples in my neighbors yard and straight though my office window and into my eyes filling me with all the white light I could need! The light snow over night has left all the branches slightly covered making them look like that of a postcard. The sun, dead center of the lollipop shaped trees has created a halo of light; strong in the middle while slightly tapered to the tips of the branches. Absolutely stunning.
