Will Hossa be moved?
I don't follow the Thrashers a whole heck of alot, but I do know they cannot risk losing him to free agency. Chances are that Hossa will sign with a team that is closer to contending than the Thrashers are.
Now what they have to do to avoid such a situation like this with Kovalchuk is turn Hossa into some players that will make your club better now and in the long run.
I would do something along the lines of this ...
Trade Hossa along with someone like Havlid and a 2nd round pick in 2008 to the flyers in exchange for Carter, prospect Claude Giroux and defenseman Randy Jones. (if that is a lowball offer, maybe add someone like Upshall)
Flyers get another offensive weapon who in my opinion would play well with Briere and they also get a veteran puck moving defenseman that is somewhat underrated.
Does anyone follow the Thrashers closely and have any idea on what they are looking for in a trade if they were to move him?
Should be interesting in the coming weeks anyways. What would you want in return if you were the Thrashers?

Would be interesting if the Sens could land him for a reasonable cost....he'd only be a one year wonder there; they don't have the cap barring him becoming quite generous.

I think he will be moved, it will be a matter of what the other team is willing to give up. Hossa has no contract for the next season, so any team willing to trade for him, has to either try to work out a contract ahead of time, or risk losing him when the season is done. So what do you give up of a "rent a player" for a few months.

I think that any team that acquires Hossa and gives up alot for him would not do so unless they were certain they could get him signed before July 1st.
Sundin on the other hand is a completely different situation. It is a pretty much known that he will return to Toronto next season no matter what. He truly would be a rental.

He'd be welcome in Ottawa, and names like Eaves, and Vermette have been thrown around

Hossa might just end up resigned....I guess we should have a better idea of that in the next weeks.
There's been talk of him in Vancouver but I have my doubts...
I never thought of Philly before but it does make sense. He'd sure add to an already strong group. Philly never crossed my mind previously.

Hmm....Philly would be interesting for sure, but do they have the spare parts to offer for Hossa's services, or the cap room to keep him? Personally I'd hate it, but it does add a new twist to things if they could swing it.

He will be moved if Atlanta doesn't want to lose him for nothing. I read in the paper 2 weeks ago that he wants out. If he's not gone by the 26th for a good return then that would be a major screw up by the Thrash.

He might be traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs for the Leafs captain
