Default Tobias Enstrom

While updating the Rookie scoring list yesterday, this name appeared in the top 5 in scoring... this defenceman.

Um, yeah.

Does anyone know much about this guy? How does his vision on the ice look? Does he have some of that "veteran poise" when handling the puck and making the first passes out of his own end of the ice? How's his defencive game? I heard he easily gets manhanded in his own end due to his size (5'10", 175lbs). How does this guy play and id he a valuable asset to the Atlanta Thrashers?

I mean, 23 points in only 40 Games Played (3G, 20A), and at only 23 years of age?

Dunno but I saw him get hammered twice by Sergei Kostityn (you heard right, I wasn't sure either lol) last night, the 2nd time Enstrom was rattled bad and didn't finish the game. Announcers said that he's important on the powerplay

He's amazing to watch. Because of his size, he's extremely nimble on the ice. Interesting story, if you see him play, you'll notice the stick he uses looks way to long for how tall (short?) he is. His dad told him as a teenager to add an inch of stick each year.

I think he should be up there and in contention for the rookie of the year. He leads all rookies in ice time and with his scoring, he should be considered. It's harder to be a good defenseman than it is to be a good forward. He's going to be a very good defenseman with his skating ability and his ability to really move the puck.

I watch him closely as he's on of my d-men on my fantasy roster.

That's what's amazing about Enstrom....in a game where his team lost 10-1, he was a +1.

How does that happen?

Woah!!! 10-1!

That is interesting. I rarely look at +/- to when it comes to a player's defecive game, but in cases like this where your team scores only 1 goal and the oher score 10, yet you still come away with that +1...

That is impressive.

The trade for Dany Heatley that brought Hossa to the Thrashers was because Heatley wanted to be traded for personal reasons. This was a result of his crash in 2003 that killed Dan Snyder.

Yes, everybbody knows that, what's your point?

Anyway, I think that Enstrom is only going to keep getting better. In a few years, the Thrashers could have a very good team. The main knock on him that I've heard is that he's a little soft, but he's young. Im sure he'll eventually become more physical.
