That's true. I myself have been saying for years that he should stop coming back to the Leafs. He did though. Over and over again. Even thoug he shouldn't have and he knew he wasn't going to have the linemates that he long deserved. He gets props for that.
But there was nothing about him not waiving his NTC and than leaving for nothing after the team has a chance for something back there. Or, at least I don't remember something like this happening any time recently.
After thinking about it a little bit though, I guess stab in the back is a bit too strong here.
It's more like he's flipping the bird.
