Yeah, Fletcher shouldn't have spouted off the way he did to the media (Mats was taking a lot from heat from them, no doubt), but for the most part the fans (the people who relaly drive this team) didn't tear him apart. They weren't happy about what he did, but they didn't tear him apart.
I remember a poll on NHL Network that had 73% support whatever decision he made, while only 27% disagreed and thought that he wronged them. Down the stretch, the fans still cheered him on as the playoff picture slipped away (and he eventually got injured)
Why are they going to take the hit? One thing is for sure, it will be the end of the word "classy" when we talk about him.
