I really don't think he would have not signed if he wasn't feeling at least fit to play. Even when injured he is still better then the majority of the player in the NHL today. They wont bombshell him with ice-time, but play him more reserved and responsibly. I can actually see him playing the third line just to make sure he stays healthy and to spread the scoring depth out.
