Any ideas?
Tapered carbon blades are expensive. You can almost buy another one piece stick for the same price. I suggest picking up a wooden blade for tapered shafts. They're the same price as regular wooden blades. If you like woodwork and cant' find a tapered blade, pick up a regular wood blade and start modifying...(1"x.5" hosel). Any thinner you may end up breaking the blade.

I did it to mine and works great, not much of a difference.
