At most, Rivet should have received nothing more than five and a game. Morrow knew the hit was coming and was in poor position to receive the hit. Rivet simply boarded him hard, resulting in a cut and some blood. Hardly the end result of a cross ice charge nor did it result in an unconscious or badly hurt player. Injury is a key part of the penalty. Morrow lays around on ice unconscious, Rivet's hit gets reviewed by the NHL. Morrow gets up and skates around with nothing but a cut, Rivet gets a fighting major for introducing Daley to his fist.
