Bryan McCabe out 6-8 weeks

Quote:
The Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman is expected to miss up to eight weeks after breaking his left hand in three places in the third period of his team's 4-1 loss to Montreal on Saturday night.
That injury occurred on a seemingly innocuous play involving Habs' winger Andrei Kastsitsyn along the boards just inside the Toronto end. The players got tangled and somehow McCabe lost his footing and fell awkwardly into the boards with his hand taking most of the impact, bending it forward.
After going directly to the dressing room, he was quickly X-rayed by the Canadiens' medical team.
Toronto officials said he will miss a minimum of six weeks.
Coach Paul Maurice was livid after the game, putting the blame on Kastsitsyn, whom he accused of "horse collaring" the defenceman.
"He's too good a player to miss that much time after a [expletive] play like that," Maurice said.
But Montreal coach Guy Carbonneau said he watched the replay and "there was nothing wrong with it."
McCabe has a lengthy history of injuries during his time in Toronto.
In 2002, he broke a foot and then missed significant time a year later with a knee injury.
Last season, a groin problem kept him out and earlier this year it was seven games on the shelf when the groin was hurt again.

McCabe has been playing very well as of late for the leafs and I would say he is a big loss right now for the team.
