Granted, it's only been two games, but Timonen hasn't been as impressive as I expected him to be. With all the press clippings, maybe my expectations are too high. I just haven't seen Timonen bring the puck up that much or jump into the rush. Maybe that's not his style, but for how much he was touted as the puck-moving, offensive defenseman, I haven't seen it yet. He was a -2 tonight after the empty net goal.

The defense as a whole has looked pretty good. Edmonton was flying tonight and just seemed to have the jump at getting to the puck first. I've been impressed with the number of blocked shots. Hatcher has been impressive so far; he looks really good.
