In the midst of a terrible season, Calder had just 21 points and was a league-worst minus-31 in 59 games with the Flyers this year, so there is an element of risk in the Red Wings adding him for the stretch run.
While Calder's struggles have been hampering his game all year, it has been slightly better in the last couple of months, when he's produced 18 points in 36 games.
